About AA Thornton Jewellers of Kettering

AA Thornton was established 101 years ago in 1909 in Kettering by Arthur Augustus Thornton. Arthur originally trained as a watchmaker in Birmingham before setting up in Market Street Kettering where in the early years he could be seen repairing watches in his shop window.

Over the 100 years of family ownership the business has expanded and moved into larger premises in the Kettering High Street. For the last 10 years business has been run by Arthur’s Great Granddaughter Sally.

Sally who originally trained as a Silversmith has extensive experience within the Jewellery industry including time as a goldsmith for a manufacturer, for Georg Jensen and also a period with the Gemmological Association.
